I am David Willemoes Jensen, a 3D digital artist and illustrator from Denmark, based in Malmö, Sweden. I like to create other-wordly, highly detailed characters and environments where organic matter meets mechanical objects. My art style has been described as nightmarish but beautiful and at times humorous. I have worked with traditional mediums like ink and airbrush for years but am now mainly focused on 3D design. I have a special interest in creating intricate 3D designs and optimizing them for performance, without compromising on the visual quality.
I have recently gotten into 3D printing and purchased and assembled a FDM 3D printer. I have learned a lot of programs, mainly I’m quite fond of one called Plasticity. Working with a NURB based 3D program is in my opinion an excellent choice for environment design.
With my background as a sign painter and engraver it was very fun for me to assemble the printer and optimize it with my own modifications. I strive to optimize every print and have learned to work with different materials and post processes
It’s hard to describe the joy of seeing and holding the figures I made in real life. In addition, working with models that require exact measurements and shapes is a great combination to my workflow as an artist.
I have worked on three game projects as a 3D artist and am working on my own game in my private time. As an illustrator and traditional artist, I have designed a book cover, participated in a group exhibition and designed both logo and signage. These can all be explored in the collection on my website.
